We believe in the power of mentorship to inspire, guide, and support the next generation of kidney care professionals. Our mentorship program pairs mentees with experienced mentors who provide guidance, advice, and support in their academic and professional journey.
MKF will provide resources under one roof and give access to good & latest articles in Nephrology including those behind a pay wall. Also our Digital librarian at times can help in search & aggregation of review and research articles.

Nephro Resources
MKF Academy, with the help of a passionate group of Nephrologists has aggregated & curated an online collection of good quality articles, blogs, debates, videos etc of various renal topics for easy access under one heading. Many such trending Renal topics are selected & different resources on that topic are put up in one page. This would greatly help students to review an article or write thesis & also help practicing nephrologists easy and in-depth access to study a particular topic. For starters, 30 topics are selected and curated articles are posted. Slowly the repertoire would be enhanced to include many more topics.
Observership
Our observership program provides healthcare professionals and students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insight into the field of kidney care through observation and mentorship by experienced practitioners.

MKF Academy has tied up with professional agencies & NGOs to help students in acquiring different articles including those behind a pay wall and also paid videos. The request has to be mailed through a SMS & all attempts will be made to pay & get the required article for them.

JOURNAL SCAN
This section aims to streamline articles from various national and international Nephrology Journals for quick updates. We acknowledge the challenges of staying current with the plethora of published articles across numerous journals amidst busy practices. This section – JOURNAL SCAN, under senior faculty guidance, will offer concise updates of most of the articles published, providing a reference point for further exploration online. The effort also will involve critiquing and analyzing significant landmark articles with insights from senior Nephrologists and statisticians, enhancing existing literature. Please note that the scan offers only a snapshot and abstracts of select articles and we encourage healthcare professionals to delve deeper into journals for comprehensive coverage, including reviews, letters to editors, guidelines, and clinical case reports.
MKF Evervital Research Grant
The Mumbai Kidney Foundation strives to encourage research in Nephrology, as a part of its academic initiatives of Mumbai Kidney Foundation. Every year, the society will award 1-3 Research Grants upto a total amount of Rs 5 lakhs to nephrologists of India for doing research on nephrology diseases affecting India, Novel diseases, community problems in nephrology or nephrology education.
MKF Academy - Core group
Mumbai Kidney Foundation and Kidney Associate India headed by Dr. Umesh Khanna is proud to expand its wings and start the Mumbai Kidney Foundation Academy.
Helmed by Dr. Umesh Khanna, whose passionate endeavor over the years has grown MKF from humble beginnings to the current state, wherein it plays not only an active role in patient care; but also provides holistic care of medical and paramedical staff, ambulance services for the needy and financial assistance for renal transplantation to name a few.
Mumbai Kidney Foundation (MKF) academy is now branched into a separate wing in this setup which is dedicated to updating knowledge to Nephrologists, Physicians and paramedical staff alike. With this academy, MKF wishes to strengthen its academic pursuit which is critical in delivery of better patient care.
The core group of the MKF academy consists of like-minded Nephrologists across India, who will strive in strengthening the mission of MKF: “Kidney health for all, Kidney education for all”.
Dr. Vineet Behera, Dr. Jithu Kurien, Dr. Nikhil Bhasin, Dr. Ayan Dey, Dr Nikita Pawar and Dr. Aakash Shingada, who form the core committee, under the tutelage of Dr. Umesh Khanna, will be overseeing the various projects carried out by MKF academy.
